Carry Freedom 2023 Y Trailer 2.2 - XL

New for 2023 the Y XL is a multi functional, elegant and versatile trailer platform with loads of new features. Load it with all kinds of attachments like boxes, backpacks, dog baskets or the weeks shopping or popping to the garden centre. Designed for heavier loads the XL has a new shape for the load bay and a new reinforced frame making it ideal for delivery services, larger tours and car free living both in the town and countryside.

Design Features:

• Supplied with the proven Lollypop elastomer hitch and bracket. The Lollypop trailer hitch bracket requires 4mm of space on the rear axle of the bike
• The cargo bed is built from premium quality beech plywood with good protection against the elements. The wood is certified according to EN-636-3
• The loading area has a non slip sticker on the surface that won’t scratch your stuff
• The triangular holes on the cargo bed make it easy to tie down with cam straps
• The safety deflectors ensure that nothing gets between the wheels and the load bed
• The loading surface is prepared for many options and future developments. For example its easy to mount a Y-Surf, the flag and light holder and the safety deflectors without drilling
• Instead of just attaching the drawbar to the frame with a safety pin, the frame has a clamping feature that reduces rattling and creates a stronger connection. The clamp is also on the other side to attach a hand truck handle using the same technology
• The frame is fitted with high quality IGUS plastic plain bearings. These are self lubricating, maintenance free, chemical resistant, universally applicable and up to seven times lighter than their metal counterpart. The bearings can withstand extreme temperatures and are easy to replace.The benefits are better running characteristics, less driving noise and the prevention of seizing of the wheel axle, due to corrosion or moisture

  In loving memory of Alasdair Macleod. VOLT™ Stories is a new series of videos VOLT Electric Bicycles made to that share some of the unique and surprising ways their customers use their ebikes. This story shows Alasdair Macleod, a local fisherman from Applecross on the northwest coast of the Scottish Highlands. The area’s mountains and coastlines are among the UK’s most idyllic sights. Featured on BBC News, Applecross is one of the first communities to power all local homes and businesses directly from its hydro scheme in hopes of becoming energy self sufficient. To reduce his own carbon footprint, Alasdair made the switch to a VOLT™ Alpine and a CARRY FREEDOM Y Trailer to deliver his catch around the village. Soon enough, the E-Bike became central to his day to day routine. His rear wheel is wobbling a bit on the trailer!

  A new Bike 2 Boat Adventure! With bike, kayak and a Carry Freedom trailer from Cannes to Venice. After last year’s Bike 2 Boat trip through Norway, Olaf Obsommer, Jens Klatt & Philip Baues decided to start a new adventure: They explored the countryside by bike & wild waters of the Alps by kayak between Cannes & Venice. 5 countries, 2000 kilometers, 22.000 meters of altitude, 18 rivers, 52 days on the bike & in the boat. To travel the Alps by bike & kayak is an intense way to explore the countryside. Stop where you want, sleep where you fall over & paddle as much as you can
